The Academy was founded in Spetmeber 1999 by Master Derek Sumner. Since then Livingwell has grown into a nationally and internationally recognised club, renowned for its' performance on both a regional and national level.

Now boastig over 250 members at some of the most desirable locations in the south-east, Livingwell is continuing to grow at an astonishing rate.

Master Derek Sumner has over 25 years experience in matial arts and fitness training and is now a full time instructor. Livingwell Taekwondo Academy now has over 20 government/BTCB approved instructors and numerous fully qualified First Aiders. Read more here.

Livingwell had another outstanding result at this weeks Milton keynes UTA TKD Poomsae Championships.

Master Del said 'A statistical story full stats ask mathematician G man ! We enter an international competition 250 players it draws a couple of world medalists , we take 20 players (quality of course) some wait 8 hours to compete Golds are won by individuals plus a couple of teams ,less in silver and a couple of bronze we take 2nd best team ! Sydney in a highly competitive group was pipped by mexicos world bronze medalist giving her 2nd place , I'll take 2nd every day if we statistically perform as Magnificent as that and I'm sure Syd feels the same , performance and the passion of my players gives me pride and understanding why I do this amazing Art thankyou again Livingwell your pure Gold !! X'

Some of the mums of our younger Livingwell students took to the matt this week for a taster session. Everyone agreed that it was great fun, both for the children and their parents. In fact the lesson went so well that it is going to be run as a regular session with several mums looking to take the sport up!

So come on all you other mums, come along and join in next weeks session, you might even enjoy it!

Student of the Month Kerry Parks

Kerry Has been a loyal student and instructor of L/W TKD for many years she has always been a passionate and loyal member with an abundance of talent .after taking a maternity break for a couple of years she is back as keen and as inspiring than ever , she is a true TKD and L/W champion in her own Right .

Well done Kerry welcome back to where you belong .

Livingwell yet again won the coveted prize of Best Club at this years National Poomsae Championships! Mark went up to accept the award on behalf of the club to rapturous applause and whoops from the Livingwell competitors.

Finally Taking an emotional bow out from Hookwood Memorial Hall where it has been home for over a decade, stars were born here , Masters and Grandmasters World wide graced the hall, building a club that is recognized as  the most successful poomsae clubs in the UK and hundreds of Children and Adults alike have enjoyed this community Center with Livingwell.

But the time has come to bid farewell spread our wings and take the Club to the new Andersons Leisure Center. This state-of-the-art center offers the perfect location and facilities, built with the community in mind and giving the club twice the floor space and fully matted offering 5 days a week training.

The opportunity of expansion could not be passed up and buzz of excitement is spinning around the Clubs with instructors and students alike .
