Since I was a little girl I have always been very sports orientated, enjoying gymnastics, playing hockey for the county and tennis for Staffordshire Poly. However, growing up with two brothers who were very interested in the martial arts scene I thought it was about time I started my new adventure. Jack (my son) had already taken his first steps so there was no excuse for me to back out. The only question that needed to be answered was from my Orthopaedic surgeon, who would agree for me to participate in a martial art. In March 2005 I had a consultation with him and it was agreed I could start training in taekwondo but to go slow and to take it easy as my lower back had a gaping hole in it the size of a Satsuma. Well, since then I haven't looked back. I love the training, the history of the Art and most of all I love the kyroogi. I have been called so many times an incurable perfectionist in all I do, this has been a blessing and a curse. I am really determined and love being faced with new challenges (especially when I overcome them). I achieved Blackbelt status in 2008 and then became a second dan in 2009 thanks to my instructor Master Derek Sumner who has taught me everything I know. I am a Class 3 Kyroogi judge and poomsae judge I currently run Livingwell Langshott a successful sister club of Livingwell Taekwondo.

My favourite things in TKD are kyroogi and the pad work . I am inspired by the poomsae talent we have at Livingwell and hopefully one day be able to get on the mat and compete myself at a National competition. I have so many proud memories within my time at Livingwell, but two spring to mind , one being both my children achieving Blackbelt Status and secondly, a visit from Grand Master Kangs shin Chil and his family . What an experience that was. It will never be forgotten. Would like to say a big thankyou to Master Derek Sumner, Monique Weber for their constant support in all of my TKD
